Ride to the Top of this Scenic Viewpoint

Hawk Hill - Search Nearby - Added by Matt Moser

Take in a scenic view of the city and the coastline from this viewpoint. Earn your rest break by pushing up these challenging Marin hills. Choose to head down to Rodeo if you're looking to spend a day at the beach.

If you're looking to ride and to get a great view of the city but and want more than to just ride the Golden Gate, then this is for you. Head up the the West side sidewalk, hang a left off of Alexander Ave. on the north end and start preparing yourself for the climb up Conzelman Road to take in the Hawk Hill overlook. To get to Conzelman, head through the tunnel on Dane's Dr. to Bunker Rd. then hang a left on McCullough, which will connect with Conzelman.

If you're looking for a little extra, once you've hit the top of the lookout, head north on Conzelman until you reach Bunker Road. Take a second to enjoy the views of the ride, especially as you pass Rodeo Beach. Once you've got some energy, continue on Bunker Road through the tunnel and back to Dane's Dr. to return to the bridge.

This is a really great ride. You can do this in just an hour or so if you live in SF. It is right outside of the city limits. Would do this again.

This is a long but rewarding climb. For active cyclists, you should be able to ride from the parking lot at the base of the Golden Gate to the top of the hill in under 10 minutes :)

You'll love who you are when you are in Marin!

Marin County is just a little out there. As in one famous bridge away from San Francisco. And right next door to the vineyards and Napa and Sonoma. Closer than you could ever imagine to everything that's unique in this clever corner of California. Take a vacation from the typical vacation
