Explore the Tagbak Marine Park
Liloan, Philippines
Description
Added by Tiffany Young
In a country with more than 7,000 islands, there are many hidden secrets. So to keep it short, Liloan is totally on the low-key international tourism scale.
The best way to get to Liloan is with your own ride. So if you don't have a car rentals range around 3000 PHP. But if you don't get a car, it's not impossible! Check out how these backpackers did it.
A four hour drive from Tacloban City and just over the Liloan Bridge is a small parking lot to the left that'll be where your boatmen picks you up for a day of straight chillin'.
When you rent the cottage at the Tagbak Marine Park you're basically renting the entire park. The cottage is isolated in the beautiful blue body of water! You can see town and it's only a 10 minute boat ride away, but no one can come bother you. (It's only one group reservation per day from 9am to 5pm)
The marine park has a beautiful habitat of life from all sizes and tons of species. The water is calm for the most part - just need to watch out for bigger waves from ships coming into port sometimes. The boatmen hangs around to watch over you in case of emergencies.
Remember to care of the environment! Unfortunately, there are bits of plastic that float around from town. So it's everyone's duty to clean up after themselves and keep this marine habitat healthy. Tourism is a good thing only when we respect the area!
To make a reservation (you'll need to do this in advance and pay the cottage fee to reserve):
- Visit the Municipality of Liloan Tourism and Investment Promotion Office OR

And lastly, keep in mind:
