A favorite canoe or kayak spot in the Southern Adirondacks. You're almost always guaranteed a sighting of the beautiful Heron.

At the parking area there is a dam. You can launch next to this area; the water is calm. The paddle is enjoyable with very little current. Starting from the dam, a 4 mile paddle will bring you to Lily Lake, There are primitive campsites along the way and great spots to enjoy lunch. After Lilly pond, you can continue to Dolgeville Point. Continue around the pond and head northwest this will bring you into West Lake West Lake.

At this point you can turn back for an approximate 11 mile round trip. If you are able to spot vehicles you could continue to the launch on across West Lake.

Hike to Nine Corner Lake

There is plenty of parking here with large pull-offs on both sides of the road. The trail is a wide old road. Soon after you sign the register you will pass a gate and continue.

Hike to Kane Mountain Fire Tower

The Kane Mountain fire tower is one of the more frequented Adirondack towers due to the ease of the trail and its proximity to so many Caroga Lake camping areas.

Camp at Caroga Lake

I have been camping here yearly. Located on East Caroga Lake the sites are clean and many are large. They offer a few water sites.
