My family tree can be traced through the Land Between the Lakes and the Shawnee National Forest regions of West Kentucky and Southern Illinois. I have been obsessed with traveling the Nation's National and State Parks my entire life.

They do have monitoring on the caves now and you could be arrested if caught here. Even worse if you get caught in the tides you are likely to drown.

This is a lot like Central Park in New York. Except it’s on the beautiful coast of San Diego.

This is a great stop to get out stretch your legs take a picture then move on.

Great views of the lake and skyline along this mostly light trail.

The trees along the ocean walk around sunrise make very dramatic photos.

This could be a great park if people took better care of their trash. Beware doing this to early in the day and don’t walk here at night.

I went several times of the day. This was the best not only for photography, but enjoying the monuments without mobs of people.

There are few more beautiful places to swim on earth. Oak Creek Canyon and 89a are amazing places. Many pull offs to park and play.

Make sure to check the guide reports before attempting. Sometimes in periods of drought fishing is really tough. Hire a guide if this is your first trip.

Another great way to explore the broken arrow trail is to bring your Jeep or rent one in Sedona.

This was an awesome surprise and a must visit state park. Plenty of trails and creeks to explore and the cave is stunning.

This is not where montezuma lived. 😂 This is a beautiful park though and I enjoyed not only the ruins, but the path along the river.

La Jolla Cove is a surreal place. With all the pinnipeds, sea caves, old school vibe from the local shops 9one could spends days or hours here. Take a kayak and explore the cove. You’ll be glad you did.

See the place where all the arches in Jackson were made from. The Elk Refuge is a great place for wildlife photography. Best time to view them here is late fall into winter.

A great view and a great break from hiking while in Grand Teton NP.

The shot most think of when dreaming of the Rockies.

If you can, hike it. If you have small children or elderly people with you. Take the ferry ride. I like the ferry just to take some photos of the views.

This campground is smaller, but I enjoyed it more because I felt the camp sites were a bit further away from each other than morraine park.

The best part of this when I was child was getting to throw a snow ball on my birthday July 31st.

A great rare glimpse of the old world in the parks. Make sure your vehicle isn’t loo long and sits high enough to make the switch backs and get over the potholes. This road is only open after the snow has melted along it. Some years it opens Memorial Day, some years it isn’t open after July Fourth.

Sprague Lake is the best place at sunrise and sunset to see the parks moose. Easy parking, and a flat trail make it ideal for photographers along the lake shore. Several bulls and mothers and babies frequent this area to eat at the beginning and end of the day.
