My family tree can be traced through the Land Between the Lakes and the Shawnee National Forest regions of West Kentucky and Southern Illinois. I have been obsessed with traveling the Nation's National and State Parks my entire life.
Hire a guide and catch unlimited fish here. It is a legendary trout stream for a reason.

I can say I crossed the highest suspension bridge. Stretched my legs, took some great photos and after an hour got back on the road.

Even with the bike lanes, if you go early you will have less crowds and can afford to look around and see the awesome red rocks of GOTG area.

Because this part of the park has a separate entrance, this is a great hike with a lot of waterfalls. It is also a great place to see wildlife and fish for wild brook trout.

Make sure to take a fly rod as above the falls is awesome brook trout fishing in summer. Used the hopper dropper.

its relatively flat until near the falls, then some incline. worth it as this cascade is amazing year round.

I wish I would have gotten experience prior to coming to the park. Either way, this was awesome to see the full night sky and millions of stars with hardly a sole around.

Make sure you get to the trail as early as possible. A great hike and even better photography opportunity.

This parking lot is one of the busiest in the Rockies and I always make sure to get here prior to sunrise to make sure I had a space.

After a day in Frisco or Silverthorne, make sure to find a spot in the campground or a pull out to view the sun set over the rockies. It shouldnt be to crowded to scout out a great spot ahead of time.

Do this just to see the amazing sea caves unspoiled and not as crowded as those on the mainland.

This old volcano is now an icon of the PCH. Its a great stop towards the southern terminus of the Pacific Coast Highway.

This park had it all, creeks, redwoods, and history. Great place to spend a few hours!

I thought other waterfalls in the area were better, but this was a good stopping point and nice relaxing couple hours at the falls. Worth a stop.

This campground is awesome and likely one of the best along this stretch of California, but it books up WAAAAY in advance so be prepared.

I stayed on shore with a spotting scope, but watching the whales along this stretch of coast is mind blowing, I recommend anyone spend some time relaxing and watching the ocean near Monterey Bay.

This is a great park to stop at along the PCH. Come for an amazing sunset if you're staying nearby.

An easy stop along the PCH. Be sure to catch this at low tide to reveal lots of cool tide pools and rock formations.

This road has to be driven to be believed. The mountains crash into the Pacific oceans. Also, Canyons, Pine Forests, Redwood Groves, Waterfalls, Tide Pools, it goes on and on the adventures that can be had along the PCH.

This trail was awesome change up to the Sequoia tree trails that dot the park. Waterfalls are always a draw though, so be ready for a bit of a crowd.

I enjoyed the sunsets here, but also watching people who are way better at surfing than me make the sport look really easy. Also this area reminds me of a by gone era of California.

This is also an amazing place to catch a sunset.

Seeing the awesome Torrey Pines Hill or mountains or whatever meet at the beach is awesome. Many little nook and cranny canyons and rock formations meet the sandy beaches near San Diego and are must visit. Be warned, it gets very crowded here.

The water is to cold for me to fully swim, but this is one of the most beautiful stretches of beach in California. Make sure its either a hot day or you have a wet suit to fully enjoy the water.
