The Cathedral Spires are some of the largest rock faces in the Black Hills. They can be seen from the scenic Needles Highway.
This trail starts at the parking lot along the Needles Highway. Follow the trail to the spires. At the end of the trail, enjoy views of Black Elk Peak (formerly Harney Peak) to the northwest and the Badlands in the distance to the east.
P.S. Keep your eyes open for mountain goats!

This is one of my favorite hikes in the Black Hills. There are so many neat spires and other areas to explore just off the trail! The spires are magnificent!

Gorgeous
When leaving from Needles Highway trailhead, hike is steep in some places but beautiful, well worth the effort

Easy Quick Day Hike
Beautiful hike and an easy hike for the whole family. Great views of the spires and the hills when you get to the end. During tourist season, this is a very popular hike and the parking area is a bit difficult to navigate so be careful for people walking in the road and get there early to get a parking spot!
