Unstad Beach is one of the premiere arctic surfing destinations in the world. It has both beautiful sandy areas and boulder-strewn areas to explore. For those who love adventure, it's a great destination.
Unstad Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Lofoten area of Norway. Unstad has beautiful golden sand and is surrounded by majestic mountains. Its location and geography allow for the formation of large waves in addition to the beautiful beach itself. Because of the large waves, this is a really popular area for Arctic surfing (yes that's a real thing). For those who are not quite up to the challenge, it can still be enjoyable to watch others riding the waves or just enjoying the beauty of the beach itself. One of the forces allowing for the large waves is the wind, do not be surprised if the wind is more intense here than other beaches on Lofoten.
The beach is only a hundred yards or less from the parking lot so your gear should match your activity.
