Climb Morning's Mourning at the Oak Creek Canyon Lookout
Details

Excellent trad climb with sweeping views of Oak Creek Canyon.
5.8+, 80ft trad climb at the Oak Creek Canyon Lookout.
To get there, take the 89A North from Sedona, or South from Flagstaff. Then you will see signs for the Oak Creek Canyon Lookout. Take the turn off and park in the lot. If you think you will stay beyond closing, park across the street so you don't get locked in. When the lookout is open, there are bathrooms and water fountains available. There are around 70 climbs at the lookout itself, so this is an excellent place to spend a day climbing.
You have two options for the approach, rappel down the climb itself, or hike along the ridge and take the well worn path down to the base of the climb. This route is about mid-wall just top the left from Mint Julep. It is in the Orange Out Sector of the lookout.
The climb starts with some blocky holds to a ledge below a right facing corner. From there, there are some wonderful jams, finger locks, crimps, and face holds to get you to the top. You will need a standard rack up to a #3 cam.
Enjoy the climb! Please remember to stick to the leave no trace principles!
