There's nothing quite like Yosemite high country--sprawling meadows, peaceful forest, and impressive mountain features make Tuolumne an incredible place to camp and hike.

Camp at Tuolumne Meadows Campground Reviews
Tuolumne Meadows seems very spread out, and it is, but this campground is the perfect spot for a basecamp (especially loops A&B): you're close to Tioga Road, so you can easily be in the meadows in a few minutes, and the walk to the Lembert Dome/ Glen Aulin/ Cathedral Lakes/ JMT trailheads are at most a 1 mile flat walk away, and the trail to Elizabeth Lake starts at the back of Loop B! Campers seem more relaxed and chill up here too, not as party-ready like in Yosemite Valley. Highly recommend spending time at Tuolumne Meadows!

this is a great location to camp in Yosemite. Its location makes a great base camp for exploring areas of Yosemite outside of the valley floor and there are a lot of outstanding hikes in the area.
