Hike through Pope Farm Conservancy
Middleton, Wisconsin
Description
Added by Natalie F
All year round you can walk through the beautiful trails at Pope Farm Conservancy, but towards the end of July into early August they host the extraordinary “Sunflower Days.”
More info can be found about that here.
This is a beautiful 105 acre conservancy with several different trails. It’s a great spot for a picnic and to bring the family. There are interpretive signs so you can learn about the history of the land like glaciers and the different settlers. They even have a 12 acre food pantry garden now called “Forward Garden.”
The address is 7440 West Old Sauk Road, Verona, WI 53593. As a local, I would not consider this to be in the city of Verona, but I guess it is. That’s just a logistics thing, because the town of Middleton is in charge of all things Pope Farms. While you are in the area be sure to check out some other cool Middleton activities like Pheasant Branch Conservancy if you want to spend more time walking outside. After that, check out some live music and grab a beer at one of the breweries nearby.
There are a bunch of different hiking options- some longer than others, but most of them are relatively short. The photo below has the distances for each hike outlined.
