Photograph the Deception Pass Bridge
Details
Added by Andrew Hoang
Not too far from downtown Seattle, this bridge and its surrounding area serves as a great mini getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city
Once you've parked your car, there is a $10 fee which can be paid at the station right next to the bridge unless you have a Discover Pass. From there, you can either go down the stairs to the beach or continue to walk across. Towards the middle, there are some stairs to get down and take some photos of the bridge and of the water. There are viewpoints below on either side. All the way across the bridge, there is another viewpoint with an information sign on the area. If you walk on the bridge on either side, there are many spots to take photos and many places to go down and enjoy the view!

Deception Pass is a wonderful getaway if you live in the city of Seattle. The bridge itself is very PNW, and blends in well with the surrounding environment. You'll have more fun exploring than coming here to photograph the bridge.

Deception Pass
Far enough for a getaway, but close enough to home, Deception Pass State Park offers many opportunities to take some great pictures of dramatic scenery. Located around 90 minutes north of Seattle, this park has it all, from the tall and narrow deception pass bridge to the peaceful scenery of cranberry lake to the beautiful beach along Puget Sound, there's always something to gawk over and snap a huge amount of pictures on your camera. The numerous family friendly trails running from the forest to the wetlands to the beach, plentiful campsites and bbq areas with tables make Deception Pass a great destination for a sunny weekend family getaway. Should you decide to venture out to Deception Pass, be sure to stop by and check out the little historic fishing village of La Conner, a town with a bunch of historical flair and boasts many small restaurants, bars, art studios and a great view of the Rainbow Bridge.
