Sunset Sail near Seattle

Easy weekday adventure. Beautiful views of the Olympic Mountains and the Seattle skyline.

Although weekend sails are available, this is one of the best ways to get a mid-week fresh air fix in Seattle.

Start with a 1.5 hour sunset sail reservation with Emerald City Charters ( approx. $33 per adult). The day of your sail, pack a bag with blankets, drinks and picnic-style dinner. Catch the boat at the waterfront and enjoy stunning sunset views of both the Seattle skyline and the Olympic Mountains. It's very unlikely you'll have the boat to yourself, however there's enough space to create the vibe you're looking for, whether it be friendly or romantic.

Tip: Get to the loading area early to pick your perfect spot on the boat.

Washington / Ladder Creek Falls Trailhead

While not a hike in of itself, this walk to Ladder Creek Falls is still very enjoyable as you bound over a large suspension bridge, wander past smaller falls and overgrown garden steps, and get an up.

Camp at Fairholme Campground

Washington / Fairholme Campground

The campground is right at the very north end of Lake Crescent. It has bathroom and potable water, and for just $20 a night I think it is well worth it.
