Description

Added by Austin Jackson

This is a scenic hike through the woods to a three tiered waterfall that is the perfect length for a day trip.

Starting at the Falls Creek Falls Trailhead, go right at the sign to go to Falls Creek Falls, the horse camp trail will be your way back on the loop. The first half mile of the hike has areas where you can scramble down to the river, which is great for kids and dogs. After about another half mile, you will cross the river on a very short suspension bridge and begin to walk on the other side of the creek above the water. You will begin to hike uphill through a mature forest, and you can see how the water carved through the basalt canyon. Take the trail to Upper Falls Creek, which is marked. After you cross another footbridge, you will begin to hear the roar of the falls. You will get right up front, which makes for an excellent picture. After exploring the top of the falls, take the upper trail (Trail 152) back. Continue past the junction of the connector trail 1.7 miles further. Look for a path to the left that leads to a footbridge. If you hit the abandoned road, you've gone too far. Cross the bridge and follow the trail to the parking lot, which is .6 miles away.
