Saint Mary's Wilderness Reviews

This trail is one of my favorites. Perfect on a hot day. The trail is mostly shaded and the waterfall at the end is worth it. Just watch for snakes and other critters.

Hidden gem!! About a 4.3 mile out and back 305 ft elevation gain hike to get to a big waterfall with many views of neat rock formations along the way. Hike included multiple substantial stream crossings (so bring/wear good water shoes ie. Chacos, etc.). Depending on water levels you will likely have to get close to knee deep in some spots of stream crossings. We went in May when stream levels might be higher than summer levels. When we were there on a Saturday in may there were probably 20/30 people hanging around the water fall. Hiking just upstream of the waterfall you could get to more secluded smaller waterfalls and rocks that were also beautiful to have a more quiet secluded place to hang out. Water was extremely cold in May.
