Hike Roaring Run Falls

From 615 (Craig Creek rd) you turn on to 621 (Roaring Run rd) and about mile down is a little gravel road on the left that you turn down. Go down this gravel road a little ways to reach the parking area, you'll know you're there when you see a big gate held up by two stone pillars.

Once you are ready to go, you walk from the parking area past the big gate a few hundred feet to where you'll reach the bathrooms and multiple trailheads. From here there are two trails to the left of the bathrooms, and the one on the right of those two is the one to the falls. (The one on the right of the bathrooms takes you to an old iron furnace which is really neat to look at too.)

Now to call this a hike is a bit much, it is more of a nature walk. There is a nice smooth trail pretty much the whole way to the falls. However, it's very beautiful and adventurous walk! The trail goes right up beside the river the entire way and has a few nice little wooden bridges to cross. There are also a few places where the rocks have been smoothed over by the water where you can slide down them into a pool below. The falls aren't the biggest in the world, but definitely a sight to see for sure! Plus you can climb up to the top and look over, granted the rocks can get slippery so be careful.

I went on this adventure in late September, and I am definitely looking to go back after the leaves have changed. I think that's going to be even more gorgeous. Plus it was raining and a bit chilly which made the water even colder, but it was worth it! So, if you're looking to get in the water more I'd advise going in the summer, but I guess that's kind of obvious, right? But all in all, you NEED to go check out Roaring Run Falls, you won't be disappointed!
