The location of the beach also allows you to enjoy a sunset over water which is rare for the east coast. The sandy white beaches dotted with old crab buckets and crab traps is an amazing place for the entire family to enjoy the day or for that romantic stroll on the beach with your significant other. Kiptopeke State Park is great for fishing, crabbing, camping, SUP, kayaking, swimming and hiking trails. Enjoy fresh caught fish and crabs over an open flame while you enjoy one of the best kept secrets on the east coast! Kiptopeke State Park is just across the bay from Virginia Beach, Take the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel/US-13 North for roughly 23 miles until you turn left on Kiptopeke Dr which takes you to the park entrance. It is only 4 dollars for a day pass.

Reviews

Really enjoyed this area for an evening of photography. If you get low, you can find some interesting textures for a foreground.

Great for everything. Fishing the beach for flounder and Reds and ships hold a lot of fish to. Usually a nice paddle anywhere. Just take in account for the tide moving in and out.
