Moqui Canyon - Search Nearby - Added by The Outbound Collective

Moqui Canyon is an 11.1 mile out and back trail, featuring striking red canyon walls. Located near Blanding, Utah, this is a perfect day trip for experienced hikers who want some classic American Southwest canyon scenery.

Hidden in Moqui Canyon is an ancient petrogylph site, with pictures of animals such as bighorn sheep. The long, shallow alcove hosting the petroglyphs was once an Ancestral Pueblo dwelling.

Moqi queen and her dog

The Moqi Queen and her dog pictograph are an hour and 41 minutes from Blanding. Near the hog springs rest area. Looking south at the huge alcove the pictograph is on the left. The alcove is to the left of hog springs rest area. You can see pictograph from road. Never touch pictos or petroglyphs
