A Virtual Chat: Inspiring Women in Rock Climbing

In case you missed it -- How Eddie Bauer Rock Athlete, Paige Claassen, and Eddie Bauer Contributor, Karen Ramos, found their footing in the male-dominated world of rock climbing.

By: The Outbound Collective + Save to a List

"You are history right now. I am history right now." - Karen Ramos

Claassen and Ramos recently caught up to share more about their experiences as women climbers today. Approaching the sport of climbing from vastly different backgrounds, both women have unique stories that converge in compelling ways. They touched on important topics from the start.

First up? Owning privilege and taking a deeper dive into what privilege means -- that it isn't about one thing like finances or location, but also and of equal importance, privilege is about having the time to recreate.

Then, rolling into how it feels to be a woman preparing to climb in the company of men and other women. A key takeaway being that confidence comes from being comfortable. Hint: Claassen feels confident when she sports perfume to the cliff. Ramos climbs in her hoop earrings.

The exchange between Ramos and Claassen brought contagious energy. We invite you to get cozy and spend an hour with these powerhouses.
