Leave the pavement behind, in favor of tree-filtered light and glorious dirt single track. Get out on your mountain bike in the middle of San Antonio!

This beautiful bike trail exists in the middle of San Antonio,  and is an offshoot of the Salado Creek Greenway. You can start this trail past the electrical tower at the north end of the greenway. Park your car on Huber Rd (there are plenty of offices and shops you can park at, though you may have to park across the street) and take the ramp switchbacks to get to the greenway. There is a rocky path behind the electrical tower and this is the start to this particular system of unpaved single track and double track. Go wild with your path, there are no set rules back here and it's relatively empty considering the paved trails are popular with the majority of the population. If you are planning on riding in late spring, watch the weather closely! The Texas sky tends of open up with hail and torrential downpours! Although this is a relatively large space, it is bordered by private property, so be respectful and stay on the trails.
