A scenic and challenging trek through the west section of Lost Maples State Park.

The Lost Maples West Trail Loop is a 7 mile loop hike that loops around the west portion of Lost Maples State Park. This trail is mostly shaded and offers gorgeous views and scenic overlooks. There are areas for swimming, if desired. Please be advised that there are steep areas and challenging inclines, though not as steep as the East Trail.

There are primitive areas and bathrooms available. The trail is family and dog friendly, just be sure to pick up after them! Parking is abundant and can be found at the trailhead. Lost Maples State Park is a popular park, so it does become packed often. Because of this, there is an overflow parking lot.

Enjoyed this hike for the beautiful scenery. Day one of three in April was on this trail. It was a good choice for an extended stay as it wasn't too strenuous. See pictures and other trails for more details.

Very rocky trail stayed at campsite D, being really good shoes. This is a quite trail but listen you can hear nature. Beautiful

Lost Maples is a gem even after the maples are done and before they change. Tons of great elevation gains, excellent views, well marked trails. Some of the climbs will really torch your quads... run bliss.
