Forks of the River Wildlife Management Area

Knoxville, Tennessee

Description

Added by Jared Beeler

Beautiful area full of wildflowers and wildlife

This park is located in south Knoxville. The wildlife management area is very popular in the sunflower season. This area offers many activities including biking, hiking and photography. There are several trails that run through the area but some of them are closed in hunting season so make sure to read the signs posted around the area that tell when the trails are open. During July and early August the sunflowers are in full bloom and are very photographic. During this time this area is very popular and can get very busy from time to time. The main trail here is called the perimeter trail that runs along the Tennessee river. The perimeter trail is very pretty and has lot of wildflowers along the trail for most of the year.
