Amazing views year round with great hikes along the way to waterfalls and many different balds to hike.
The Cherohala Skway is one of the National Scenic byways in America it spans over 43 curvy miles from Tellico Planes, Tennessee to Robbinsville, North Carolina. On the Skyway there are many overlooks ranging elevations from 2000-5200 feet all have beautiful views and different view points. The parkway also has many pull-offs that are great for a family picnic while enjoying the amazing views and the cool breeze. Along the parkway you will find many turnoffs and pull offs but the most popular hikes to do along the parkway are Huckleberry Knob, Hooper Bald, and Whigg Meadow. Although Hooper bald is the easiest hike all of the trails are under 5 miles and cane be done easily in a day hike. All three of these balds provide amazing places to camp with 360 degree views and beautiful wildlife. On the way down the other side of the parkway into Robbinsville you will pass the Joyce Kilmer Forest which has great hikes year round and cool places to explore seeing the very old trees. Also in Robbinsville you will pass Lake Santeetlah which has many water access points great for kayaking and canoeing.
