Take family and friends on a leisurely 3.2-mile hike to Benton Falls. This beautiful 65-foot waterfall is a great day trek for anyone visiting Cherokee National Forest.

Start this hike from the parking lot of the Chilhowee Day Use Area (here you must remember to bring $3 cash to pay the day use fee). To begin, walk along the path to the left of the facilities until you come to the trailhead.

Start here continuing along the left-side of the lake. After passing the lake, you will soon come to a fork in the trail with a sign that points left to the Benton Falls Trail No. 131. Go left and hike along the wide, sandy trail for about 1.5 miles until arriving at a sign that very clearly says "Benton Falls." You will then turn left, and start your decent to the falls. Carefully follow the stone steps to the base of the waterfall, where you can now relax amongst the 65-foot beauty.

When you decide to head out, you will need to hike back the way you came in. Once at the sign at the top of the falls, be sure to take a right back toward the Chilhowee Day Use Area and campgrounds.

Hike to Benton Falls Reviews

This was a super fun hike. The trail was easy to hike. Once you reach the fall there are many rocks that you can sit and relax on. Watch out for snakes as we did come across one sunbathing in the middle of the trail.

The stone waterfall makes the hike well worth it♥️
