Camp at Meadow Creek Fire Tower
Del Rio, Tennessee
Description

360 degree view of the beautiful Smoky Mountains.
Meadow Creek Fire Tower is a great place to spend an afternoon watching the sunset or spend the night gazing at the stars. You can bring a blanket then lay out on the top of the tower and view the entire sky. The tower itself was made back in the early 1920's. Over the years it changed appearance many times and got renovated. The last renovation that was done to the tower made it so that visitors could enjoy the beautiful views of the mountains. The National Forest Service also opened it up to the public to be able to visit. If you follow the GPS it will lead you to a gravel parking lot and a trail. From there it is a short walk to the top of the hill where you can find the tower. There are a couple options for camping but this is a pretty public place so people come and go often. The best place to camp would be around the tower in a tent. There is another option if you don’t have a tent you can sleep in the bottom of the fire tower in a small concrete room I recommend bringing a tarp because it can rain inside of there.
