Description
Added by Alyssa Lewis
Just before Hilton Head Island, this beautiful refuge is tucked away. Between the lush forest, beautiful lakes and exciting wildlife - this is a trail you need to check out.
This trail is located on the Pinckney Island Wildlife Refuge. The trail is very well marked and well maintained so it's easy to access. But, it also runs right along several marshes and swamps so the wildlife is incredible. While walking near Ibis Pond you'll see several types of birds. When you get near the lakes there will be alligators everywhere. The lush forest surrounding the trail and the flowers are also a sight all in their own. Make sure you bring water with you though as there are no water fountains anywhere on the trail. The views along the trail are also breathtaking.

Walk the Nature Trail at the Pinckney Island Wildlife Refuge Reviews
I did a 9 mile loop from the parking lot out to Bull Point, then north to Dick Point with a few crisscrossing of paths in between. If you have the option to bike, bring it, this island is ideal for biking.
