About this place

Added by Alyssa Gregory

Lake Bled Bench (Ojstrica) provides beautiful views over Lake Bled and the surrounding mountains via the very well-placed bench.

For this hike, you'll want to park in the parking area at the little beach called Velika Zaka. Then, with your back to the lake, cross the road to the wooded area and walk to the left a little ways until you see an entrance into the woods (I took a picture of what it looks like and included it in this post). You'll also see a wooden stake to the left of the entrance that says 'Velika Osojnica' and 'Ojstrica' on it. Neither of these words mean 'bench', but this is the trail head. It'll take you about 20-30 minutes to get to the bench, depending on how many times you stop and lament how steep it is.

Once on the trail, you'll start walking uphill right away and it's pretty much constantly uphill (at varying degrees) the whole time. It had recently rained when we were there, so it was also very muddy (aka definitely wear sturdy shoes). There are a few spots on the trail where there's a fork; stay to the right at each of these to get to the bench.

The last part of the trail is rocky and you'll probably want to use your hands to help you climb up and over the rocks. When you get to the top, you'll be greeted by the bench and beautiful views of Lake Bled. We only saw a few other people on this trail, and had the bench to ourselves for awhile.

Follow the same route back down to the trail head. Enjoy!

A must do hike!
You can't come to Bled and not do this hike. We got up early and came here before breakfast and the views were incredible. ...
