Hike to the Hudičev Boršt Refuge

This 1h 50 minutes long hike starts at the end of nice big parking area, continuing straight through the forest, where the path begins as a cart track. There are a few intersections, where you hold on the right, following a very nicely marked path. After a few ascents you arrive to a bigger intersection where you go left, following a signpost for Hudičev Boršt.

Here you say goodbye to the cart track and continue the hike on a path trail, through a beautiful thick forest. Now the path starts to get a bit steeper. After a while the forest starts to get less thick and finally you arrive to a beautiful panoramic grassland. If a weather is clear, you can see many kilometers far, almost all the way to the capital city Ljubljana.

In the distance you can already see the mysterious Hudičev forest. The legend says that in came to be after two farmers where arguing about who does the forest belong to and one of them sad ˝Let the devil take this forest˝. At the same moment a devil came and took the forest running away from the mountain. But after the church's bells rang he lost his powers and left this forest in the middle of the grassland. After seeing this little forest you truly start to believe this tale.

Arriving to the edge of the forest you can see a lovely well next to a bench where you can take a resting looking above the gorgeous Slovenia. Now it only takes a few more minutes reach the destination - Hudičev Boršt refuge. Here you can order a traditional Slovenian meal or a drink to cool down.
