Great spot for doing a few trail laps or posting up and enjoying lunch. The hill has an incline of 430ft. Duration: 1-2 hours.

Strawberry Hill is one of the hidden gems of Golden Gate Park. It is named after the once abundant strawberry fields that inhabited the island. The hill, which reaches up to 430ft, is located in the middle of Stow Lake and has 2 foot bridges for access. This is a great place to run if you're looking to get away from the crowds in the park, but you may want to take a few laps to get your full workout in. If you're taking the more relaxing route, just hang out, bring your lunch, and take in the sights. There is also a picturesque, man-made, waterfall on the island. If you're looking for a place to pick up a quick bite to take with you, head to The Taco Shop @ Underdogs and grab a couple tacos or a burrito.

Stow Lake And Strawberry Hill Reviews

Strawberry hill is a great training ground for running training! Sprint to the top and walk back down to the bottom. Great workout and nice views too!

One of the best city parks. It's an amazing place to run/walk or play frisbee

I love cities that have huge parks right in the city! It's such a nice escape. Didn't run this, but we did walk it and had a great time. Beautiful park!

This is a huge park in the middle of the city. It's nice to see so much nature in a place that is so heavily urbanized. When youre in the middle of the park, you don't feel like youre in a big city at all.

While we definitely did not run this trail, my husband and I did walk it to sightsee. Highly recommend, especially later in the day when the light is all pretty. We did see a ton of runners, and they all looked super happy :)

Wow this is a long trail! Walked it as we wanted to sightsee along the way.
