Practice Fly Casting at the Golden Gate Angling & Casting Club
Details
Added by The Outbound Collective
There are 2 large casting pools at the club to practice your casting for free. Even if you're not a member, the members are friendly and will offer up guidance on perfecting your loops. Free Classes are offered by the Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club once a month. Duration: 2-3 hours.
The golden gate casting pools are a hidden gem in the park located on the other side of JFK from the Buffalo Paddock. Here you can practice your fly casting basics or pick up new forms casting (i.e. spey or double haul). The Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club has a clubhouse at the pond where several members are usually out perfecting their casting technique or picking up new tricks of the trade. Most of these folks pretty friendly, so feel free to ask for advice.

Jack Heifferon and Dave Drake, it'd be awesome to do this together next time you're in town. Always been high on my list.
Plenty of space to learn and practice fly casting in a beautiful and easy access location. Plenty of club members to give suggestions or teach. Public facility. A great place to chill out while physically practicing a skill.. Can be Zen like.
