Climb at the Hall of Horrors in Joshua Tree

Riverside County, California

Description

Added by Carter Clark

Beautiful crag with trad and sport routes, including some 3 star classics

The Hall of Horrors is across the road from the well-known Saddle Rocks. There is good space in this crag, so don't be discouraged with a full parking lot. Like most places in Joshua Tree, the weather is the largest dictator on when and where you'll climb. There isn't much shade here, so waiting for the cooler months is your best bet.

Most of the routes here are trad, but there are some nice sport routes as well. There are even a handful of routes you can top rope if you're new to the climbing scene.

If you know what you are doing, it is also possible to set up a highland between North Horror Rock and South Horror Rock.

Overall, a great, classic Joshua Tree crag.
