Drive the Ocean Drive Historic District

This drive encompasses all that is Newport, RI.  Known for its rocky shores and numerous sea-side mansions, this drive allows you to both view it all from the safety of your car, and has several spots to pull off to get out and get a better view.  There are grassy park areas as well that are perfect for having a picnic or flying a kite.  There are even beach areas where you can jump in for a swim on hot summer days, which are likely to be less crowded than other beaches in the area.  You can start off Bellevue Avenue, which is famous for its many mansions, and end at Thames Road, or vice versa.  Scenic and Historic, this is a must if you visit Newport, RI!
