Hornbeck's Creek Waterfall (also known as Lower Indian Ladder Falls) is accessed by a short hike that opens up to a peaceful area including a beautiful waterfall and swimming hole.

Follow the Hornbeck Creek Trail for approximately 1 mile, until the trail comes to an end and opens up into the waterfall and large pool beneath it. There is a rope swing to the left of the falls for swimming.

Driving Directions: From 209, enter into the Delaware Water Gap and in between the 10 and 11 mile markers you will see a sign for Hornbecks Creek with a gravel road adjacent to it. Follow the road back until you reach the parking lot and the trail will be to the left of the lot, well marked.

NOTE: The Hornbeck Creek Trail above the falls is currently closed.

Hornbecks Creek Waterfall Reviews

We didn’t know what we were getting into with this one. Took my two sons here and the path opened up to this beautiful mountain pool fed by a waterfall. Couldn’t keep them out of the water - it was absolutely frigid but worth it, we swam all over the little pond and hung onto floating logs, then finished the rest of the trail that went up past the waterfalls and along the stream.

the trail is open and the NPS did a great job on it. put in some great bridges. this is an easy hike. i walk with a cane and i still managed to make it(wasn't easy for me) but for a healthy person, it's really easy. the waterfall was barely flowing due to the ongoing drought but its a beautiful area. easy parking right off 209 or drive up the road to the left to a small parking spot. i know there's a lot of history to this area but i don't know what it is.

Pretty cool
