Description
Added by Kendra Reeder
Buffalo Ridge Trail is one of multiple trails at Little Buffalo State Park. The trail begins near the parking lot of the main picnic area entrance to Little Buffalo – near Pavilion 1 & 2 and the restrooms To make the trail a loop, hike the Buffalo Ridge Trail and then return by the Fishermans Trail for a total of about 2.5 miles.
This hike is marked as one of the most difficult at Little Buffalo, but we didn't find it to be overly exhausting. For someone that is used to hiking, this trail is a breeze. There are a few semi-steep inclines, but for the most part the trail is easy to navigate. There are picnic tables located near the parking area for those that would like to picnic before or after (just keep in mind the park closes at dusk). You are also able to fish and kayak in the lake (no motors allowed). Swimming is also prohibited on the lake but there is a pool and splash pad available to use for a fee.
