Hiking the Hagg Lake Loop

For hikers, this trail offers a varied and engaging route with rolling terrain, shaded forest paths, and multiple lake viewpoints. There are several trailheads along the lake, allowing for shorter out-and-back hikes if you prefer not to complete the full loop. Wildlife sightings—including osprey, deer, and woodpeckers—are common, especially in the quieter morning hours.

Mountain Biking at Hagg Lake

The Hagg Lake Loop is a favorite among beginner to intermediate mountain bikers in the Portland metro area. The trail is mostly non-technical, with a few small climbs, roots, and switchbacks to keep things interesting. Riders can enjoy fast-rolling sections, scenic lake views, and a remote feel without being far from town. The trail is multi-use and bidirectional, so bikers should ride cautiously and yield to hikers when needed.
