Camp at Tillicum Beach
Yachats, Oregon
Description
Added by Cameron Catanzano
This tucked away campground is immersed in a gorgeous Oregon rainforest perched right above a beautiful beach.
The major draw of this campground however is the beach. Many of the campsites overlook the water, but if you don’t have a view from your site it takes less than a minute to be in the sand.
We made our trip from the University of Oregon in Eugene. It was a gorgeous 2 hour drive, and after driving up from Southern California a couple of days before, it felt like a snap.
I’ve always been a big fan of Southern California’s beaches, but there really is something special about a beach in the Pacific North West. We walked for hours along this beach and could have gone longer. It was an endless expanse of reflective sand, gorgeous water, and a towering coastal range.
The Campground is composed of several single family campsites, and a wide variety of amenities such as electric hookups, water hookups, flush toilets, a self pay station, and grills/fire rings.
In addition, firewood is available for purchase at the campground, and you can quickly drive to the neat little town of Waldport north of Tillicum. Waldport perfect for filling up on gas, stocking up on forgotten rations, and going out for a warm meal, but it can also offer a wider array of activities such as fishing in the Alsea Bay and River.
At the time that I'm writing this, electric sites can be reserved at $30.26/night and nonelectric sites can be reserved at $23.26/night.
