The Arch Rock Nature Trail is an out-and-back trail in Joshua Tree, that runs close to the White Tank campground. This hike is perfect for all skill levels and ages, and can be extended for those interested in a longer hike.

This is a rock formation very popular with young crowds at Joshua Tree. The views from this hike are spectacular. If you hike this trail at sunset, the gorgeous colors of the ski are reflected onto the rocks.

There is a plaque along the trail detailing rock formations and facts about the parks geology.

We completely missed the path way to the start of the trail, so we cut through a camp site and searched a bit until we finally stumbled upon arch rock! The greatest thing about Joshua Tree is that there are so many different cool rocks to scramble on, we kept saying “is this it” “is this it”, until finally we saw it!

The trail to access the arch is very short, the trail can be poorly marked but you will find the arch nestled in between several larger rocks. While not a massive arch, it still provides tons of great photo ops and makes for a really fun adventure in joshua tree. If you plan on shooting night/sunrisephotos, its best to stay in white tank campground, being able to get to the arch from camp in under 5 minutes is great for quick access. Enjoy!
