Description

The Aliso & Wood Canyons Wilderness features 4,500 acres of magnificent coastal canyons, mountains, and natural caves overlooking the Pacific Ocean and nestled next to Laguna Beach. The Valido Trail gives a short hike to the summit of Aliso Peak, or "Mt. Zion" to locals, providing one of the most breathtaking views on the Pacific Coast.
The Valido Trail trailhead can be found just off West street off the Pacific Coast Highway, just south of Aliso Beach. Park on West Street past the trailhead.
The trail proceeds approximate .5 miles till it intersects with the Aliso Peak Trail. Go left .4 miles to the obvious summit and wooden park bench.
The canyon immediately to the north is Aliso Canyon, created by Aliso Creek. From here you can head south down Toovet Trail, east on Aliso Peak Trail to the Aliso Summit trail, or back down Valido to the trailhead.

Aliso Peak via the Valido Trail Reviews
Not a strenuous hike, it is uphill, but once you get to the "top" the views are incredible and 100% worth it.
