Trail Run at Sweet Arrow Reserve

3.1 miles 164 ft gain  - Loop Trail

Added by John Clairmont

A humble park featuring wide, well-maintained paths through a forest and a prairie.

Like forests? Like fields? How bout running in them? If so, this is the park for you!

There's a map at the parking lot to help you navigate each trail and plan your route. The parking lot also has plenty of space and a porta-john. Trails are short, but you can mix and match them to create the distance you want to go that day. If it is warm you can run through the woods, but if you're seeking some sun you can run on the trails through the prairie or along the edge of the woods. This area is great for beginner trail runners or for families who want an easy hike. Perhaps one of the best features I noticed was how empty the park was when my wife and I were here last! Looking for a specific run, the outer loop is ~3 miles.

Peaceful Park

This quiet little park is great for a quick trail run or evening hike to watch the sunset! Not crowded at all and a nice retreat from the nearby cities. Trails are fairly flat, so great if you are just beginning to move from pavement running to dirt. In the summer you might spot a deer and the fields may be glowing with fireflies!
