This short hike in Hocking Hills State Park offers awesome views of Upper Falls from above.
This .13 mile hike crosses a beautiful bridge that's one of the most-photographed features in Hocking Hills. This awesome trail system is perfect for families and people who want to be spontaneous because there are many routes to choose from as you go.
The trail
This short hike is close to the parking lot and the falls. Many people head this way after hiking to Old Man's Cave. You can continue on the path to see Lower Falls.
When's the best time to visit?
This short path is one of the most popular in the park thanks to the big rewards (views) for low activity. Visit in the Spring to see the falls at it's biggest. The water dries up in summer drought and can be gone by July.
Winter is a beautiful time to visit, but be sure to wear shoes with good traction as it can be slippery. Head out in the early morning or on a week day (especially during the school year) to avoid the crowds. Weekends can be very busy, and parking gets hard to find around mid-morning.
Are dogs allowed?
Leashed dogs are allowed here, and some areas allow dogs to be off-leash. Many dog walkers like the one-way paths as they shouldn't be crossing paths with other people or dogs heading in the opposite direction.
