Restored Civil War fort with an excellent interpretive museum and pristine beaches for swimming and beach combing.

Visiting this restored fort and the museum makes for a great day and family visit. There are plenty of great photo opportunities with very nice displays and good views of the ocean.

Very well laid out visitors center with much info and artifacts of the fort and the surrounding area. The fort is well preserved and the displays are very interesting. The quarters are air conditioned if you get too hot during the summer, nice place to slow down, cool off and see and read about the artifacts. Several miles of trails to take from loops to out and backs. We enjoyed the visit.
