Well maintained trails with views for miles at the summit! This hike is particularly beautiful in the Fall when trees foliage is at its most colorful.
Beautiful hike through forest up to an elevation of 2000+ feet. The park itself is 7,869 acres with over 18 miles of trails. This trail is one of them. The Hanging Rock Trail is 1.3 miles one way. It included a moderate incline up well kept dirt and gravel trail then, turns into steps made of timber, rock, and boulders (330 steps to be more exact!). Well worth the effort for the view at the summit. You can see for miles and miles. The park itself also has a lake, waterfalls, rockclimbing, river adventures, caverns, and mountain bike trails throughout the park.
