Take in the breathtaking sights from the summit of the Pinnacles Track overlooking the greater Coromandel Forest and Hauraki Plains.
The Kauaeranga Kauri Trail is a 1-2 day hike. The hike itself spreads over a number of tracks that range from approximately 6-10 hours. The track can be summited in a out-and-back track in a day or as a circuit (loop). There is a serviced hut (80 bunks - bookings required) available as well as multiple campsites for overnight stay.
Trekking from the Kauaeranga road end will see you passing through the Hydro Camp and Pinnacles Hut before finally reaching the Pinnacles Summit (5hr 30min - 6hr 30min return).
Crossing clear New Zealand streams and climbing up the steep iron rungs to summit this track create a truly adventurous expedition, well worth the time.
The track is strictly NO dogs.
Contact information for the trail can be found on the NZ Department of Conservation website.
