Cave Walk
Details
Added by Courtney Clemmons
A unique cave walk that twists and meanders in pitch darkness for 594m. Scour over holes, terraces, and waterfalls
The Cave Stream Scenic Reserve is on SH73 between the Broken River road bridge and the Craigieburn Forest Park entrance. There are two 30 minute walks from the car park down to the cave entrances. Cavers are recommended to enter the cave at the outflow end and walk against the flow of the stream. Scour holes, terraces, and small waterfalls while walking for approximately 1 hour through the cave. To assist climbing out on the inlet end of the cave is a rung ladder ascending beside the waterfall. Be careful of the water level and check the warning signs before entering the cave. Normally the deepest part of the cave is about waist level at the first corner of the cave outlet end.
