Two outlooks worth every bit of the effort

Take in two unique views of the Adirondacks on one hike. Rooster Comb offers a great 5.2 mile round trip hike that gives you some unique vantage points. Starting from the parking lot you cross over a nice wooden bridge to the trail registry. Remember to sign in. Next you'll come up on a pond in which you want to keep left and follow along the banks. As you start heading away from the pond the climb will increase. Around .7 miles in you'll reach the junction for Snow Mountain, bear right and continue on your way.

The incline now begins to increase a bit more. At about 2 miles in you'll reach your second junction, heading straight leads you to Lower Wolf Jaw. Turn right and climb the last .5 miles to the summit. Note: 2.2 miles in you have the option to take the side trail (turning right) to Valley View Ledge. Definitely visit this ledge on your way back down from the summit. The views are well worth the additional .1 miles.

The final .5 miles of this hike becomes steep and requires some scrambling, root grabbing, and low center of gravity scaling. Make sure you have the proper footwear!

Enjoy the views, it's not uncommon to have both lookouts to yourself!
