Ausable Chasm

Ausable Canyon is known as The Grand Canyon of the Adirondacks, this park offers a variety of adventure!!

Enjoy the beauty and geologic history as a day trip or spend a few days. Ausable Chasm offers a variety of accommodations including camping, cabins or a motel. The recreation center at the campgrounds offer 15 miles of Mountain Biking terrain from the beginner to expert. Bike rentals are available as well as discs for disc golf.

If you want to get in the water you can take a scenic float (via raft) through the lower chasm or a relaxing Tube Ride.

If you want a bit more adventure then the Adventure Trail is for you and my personal favorite. This is for ages 8 and up. You must wear a harness and helmet. This trail includes a cargo net climb, cable bridges, zip-lining, and edge walks.

Remember proper foot attire is required. Most of this is seasonal except the hiking trails. During winter all visitors must wear snowshoes or ice cleats for safety, depending on how much ice and snow accumulated. Rentals are available.
