About this place

Added by Outbound

Camp at one of the first two built campgrounds on forest preserve land in 1920 by the Conservation Dept. For Public Recreation.

Situated in a stand of white pine and northern hardwoods on the Sacandaga River, the serene Sacandaga Campground offers excellent fishing and hiking on nearby state lands. The east and west branches of the Sacandaga River meet at the campground, contributing to the splendid scenery.

The park's amenities include campsites, a picnic area with tables and fireplaces, restrooms with showers, a trailer dump station, a boat launch (on the back side of Algonquin Lake), a recycling center, and a pay telephone. Most facilities are handicapped-accessible.

Firewood is sold at the campground.

It is $20.00 a night and reservations can be made at https://www.reserveamerica.com...
