Rewarding views for a fun and challenging hike!

This route will take you to both peaks and on most of the trails in this section of the park!

Take the Wapack Trail (1.4 miles, rocky, challenging) to the summit of South Pack (2290') and climb the fire tower for some incredible views! On a clear day, you can see the Boston skyline. Then continue out on the Wapack Trail for 2.3 miles until you get to the peak of North Pack (2278'). Take the Cliff Trail loop (1.2 miles) around the side of North Pack until you connect with the Wapack Trail again, and head back to South Pack. There, go down the other side of the auto road on the Marion Davis Trail (1.4 miles, intermediate).

Fun Fact: A monadnock is just an isolated hill/rock formation... had to google that when we were on South Pack staring at Mt. Monadnock, trying to figure out the difference!

Hike the North & South Peaks of Pack Monadnock Reviews

The views from North Pack Monadnock aren't as great as in Miller State Park, but the hike over traverses through some nice woods. Keep in mind that it is a steeper ascent back to South Pack Monadnock from North Pack Monadnock.
