Popular and fun sandstone sport climbing right outside of Vegas.
This is a popular area for beginners and intermediate rope climbers. The corridor is sheltered from the wind, which makes it climbable year-round (but bring a light jacket!).
Approach:
Climbing coordinates are 36.15547, -115.43613.
Driving on Scenic Loop Dr., park on the right at the second parking lot. From the parking lot, follow the trail through the wash and pass several pools of water to another wash. Cross the sandy wash. Up and over into a narrow wash follows to the entrance to the lower level of the Black Corridor.
Google maps says it's a 5 min. walk, but I'd say it's about 10 to 15 min if it's your first time. Trying to find it may be tricky at first.
According to Mountain Project, there are 37 sport routes and 1 trad climb. It can get crowded, so hit that area up in the morning.
It is important to note that this type of rock is not climbable when wet.
