About this place

Added by Outbound

The Railroad Tunnel Trail is an 8.2-mile scenic and historically significant hike in Lake Mead National Recreation Area. The trail is used by hikers, dog walkers, and bikers. Dogs are allowed on trail

These tunnels were built to support the construction of the Hoover Dam. If you decide to go all the way to the dam, there is an elevator for accessibility along with stairs. This hike is relatively flat, and perfect for children - but mind the distance.

Driving directions:

From Las Vegas, NV, take 93 south through Boulder City, NV. Turn Left on Lake Shore Dr. If you drive past the Hacienda, you have driven too far. From Kingman, take 93 north and leave AZ. Drive past the Hacienda, and turn Right on Lake Shore Dr. The trail head is approximately 500 yards down Lake Shore Dr, on the right.

Cool tunnels
Did this short hike after visiting the beach father down. Tunnels were cool, but the trail was closed after the 3rd one
