Our Experience:

Hybrid Green Label's The Raleigh Sneaker is a casual low-top sneaker with a vulcanized rubber outsole made from recycled rubber that is rugged enough to handle a variety of outdoor terrain. Hybrid Green Label aims to bring eco-friendly materials into the manufacture of their lines of shoes, and The Raleigh incorporates these efforts into a shoe that can be worn in everyday situations, or stand up to the elements that the park or trail might bring when you venture outside.

The Raleigh Sneaker mixes a 100% canvas upper with a solid vulcanized rubber sole constructed with a mix of tree-grown natural gum and recycled rubber. As someone who will often head out on my bike to commute or spend my free time on trails or just in the outdoors in general, it's important for me to find sneakers that can stand up to active use. The rubber soles on these are a sign that they can endure use outside, and they are made in a few different colorways leaning more toward the eye-catching side.

At a weight of 28 ounces for the pair (size 9), they're not the lightest, but that is probably to be expected given the solid sole construction and the use of eco-friendly canvas materials rather than manufactured synthetics. I found the soles to have exceptionally good grip with great flexibility, even on slick rocks and dusty single-track.

Hybrid Green Label uses Eco-Ortholite insoles, an insole made from eco-friendly materials that is advertised as providing lightweight cusioning and breathability. In wearing my Raleighs, the insoles are definitely soft. In fact the fit of the shoe feels spacious and comfortable, while not feeling like it lacks grip or control as a result.

Overall, Hybrid Green Label's The Raleigh Sneaker has so far been a comfortable low top casual shoe that is great for everyday wear, and has also been beyond satisfactory in the outdoor elements. I always appreciate a company working to create products that are in line with eco-friendly material sourcing and eliminating waste, and The Raleigh's manufacture with vegan-friendly and recycled materials definitely favors a few extra points from me.
